Dylan Cattiaux Award
The Optomechanics & Nanomechanics thesis award “Dylan Cattiaux” is a prize introduced by the GdR MecaQ, in 2021. This annual award aims at rewarding the outstanding thesis work from a young researcher who did graduate her/his PhD in a France-based research group, in one of the topics covered by the GdR. The award consists of publishing the thesis manuscript of the awardee in a periodic volume at EDP Sciences, plus a substantial personal prize money. The prize is officially supported by the French Physical Society and the French Optical Society.
The Award was delivered on Monday 29th September. The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Daniel L. Kimura, Director of Research (CNRS) from C2N, and the Jury presided by Dr. Xin Zhou (CNRS), from IEMN.

Dr. Noémie Marquet, LKB

Noémie Marquet received the second accessit prize. The thesis of Noémie, who is currently a postdoctoral researcher right here in LKB, has focused on the study of hybrid electrostatic/atomic interferometers, and in particular on the impact of rotation, under the joined supervision of Antoine Godard and Nassim Zahzam.

Dr. Thalyta T. Martins, LuMIn

Thalyta Tavares Martins, received the first accessit prize. Thalyta is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the LuMIN laboratory in Saclay, in the group of Loïc Rondin, and her PhD work focuses on the Studies of microscopic nonequilibrium stochastic dynamics of optical tweezers, under the joined supervision of Sérgio Muniz, Sergio Ciliberto and Benjamin Besga.

Dr. Damien Raynal, University of Adelaide

The winner of the 2025 Dylan Cattiaux Award is Damien Raynal, who currently is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Adelaide. His PhD work holds on Dynamical control of optomechanical traps, under the supervision of Loïc Rondin and Jean-Sébastien Lauret.
